Oh, this book sounds delicious.  I haven't read it yet, but it's going on my list TBR as soon as I'm done sharing!

Book two of her Victorian Melodrama’s:  Amanda
A minx of mischievous disposition is unwittingly drawn into the deeply shadowed life of Victorian London. Amanda Beresford uncovers the dark deeds of a man that society trusts. This is a girl with a love of the simple pleasures in life. Amanda soon discovers the adult delight of having not one, but two handsome admirers. Each man compelling in a different way; one is as light as the other is dark but which of these two gentlemen represents good and which evil?
Join Amanda as she moves from the freedom of her light hearted girlhood into the darker confusion of full womanhood while living in the hypocritical era of Victorian England. A place where ladies cover their piano’s legs for fear of being considered indecent, while their husbands, at the other end of town, are fondling the real thing!

Vanessa Brooks brings us another of her popular historical novels – a melodrama that delves under the polite veneer of Victorian society.

Excerpt:
He drew her hand to his lips, pushing her glove away from her pale inner wrist. He leant forward as though to place a kiss on that tender spot but instead, nipped her soft white flesh sharply. She squealed, shocked, smartly withdrawing her hand, she cradled it glaring at him furiously. “How dare you!”
“Oh I dare. Perhaps you believe me now? I’m American but not always the gentleman. I fought beside my father in the civil war and that iniquitous fight changed me. Like my Maine Coon cat you will find me unpredictable. We Americans are made of wilder, sterner stuff than your tame Englishmen.

About The Author:
International bestselling author Vanessa Brooks lives in Sussex England. She has a lifelong love of history, most especially English and American. She has written a couple of western tales, one notably for the Red Petticoat series which was such a huge success in America. Her Georgian series, Masterful Husbands, set in the 1700's also proved highly successful both sides of the Atlantic.
Vanessa’s novels are generally historically based; she has a knack of bringing an authenticity to the era in which her novels are set. Vanessa carefully researches each time period and strives to ensure that any historical facts she uses are correct.
More importantly, she writes entertaining books for her readers to enjoy. She includes passion adventure, romance and domestic discipline, de rigueur within the eras of her popular novels.

The best way you can ensure that your likes and dislikes are made known to an author is to leave a review. Please, take a moment out from your busy day and leave a review for the books that you enjoy! It is often the only indication an author has that you enjoyed their tale.
