The Key To Annie's Heart

What happens when an over-protective rancher meets an independent widow?  Sparks fly and somebody may get spanked!

Mac was a success by anyone's measure, except his own.  He had failed to keep his wife content to be at home, even though at the time "home" was a dream put to architectural drawings.  Too many nights she preferred to stay in town with friends rather than make the trip up the mountain to the trailer they occupied.  She liked to party and winding mountain roads coupled with too much to drink had been the death of her.

To live a rancher's life in the Rocky Mountains had been Mac's dream for as long as he could remember.  He was a rancher and a mountain man at heart.  He could nix the suit required for consulting in Washington and spend his days in jeans and cowboy boots rescuing and training horses.

In all his ways he was basic, even when it came to sex.  He was a standard missionary position kind of guy with an occasional variation.  Perhaps that was the reason his wife spent so much time in town.  He didn't think she cheated on him but if he was honest, he didn't know for sure.

His was determined to keep his next wife content, if he was lucky enough to find one.  She would be in for a surprise.  Promising he wouldn't fail again, he read and explored everything he could get his hands on to entice the right woman into his heart.

Since he rarely left his ranch, at the suggestion of Luke, the young man who managed the stables, Mac decided to try internet dating.  It seemed safe enough; with his connections to Washington, he could find out anything about any woman before he met her.

Annie Campbell was a busy event planner at a five star hotel in the city.  While she wouldn't consider herself sexually savvy, she certainly was open to new experiences.  It had been six lonely years since her husband died.  Always a people pleaser, she joined an Internet dating site just to get her friends off her back.

After reading what she considered to be a damn near perfect profile, she sent Mac a brief note and waited.   Two weeks later, after he returned from a business trip, he was delighted to read her message and contacted her immediately.  Chatting sessions, emails, and phone calls continued between them and finally a first date was arranged.

Could Mac pull it off?  Could a country guy at heart woo a city gal and convince her his laid back way of life was better?  Could he stop researching how to please a woman and put it into practice?  Oh Yes!  Yes he could!

Coming in January 2015.  Watch for it.
